MY FRIEND

I never thought I'd sit and cry,
And shed the tears I did.
I always thought that I was strong,
My emotions always hid.

Yet once I'd viewed the words you wrote,
And the sentiments you made.
I couldn't help but choke inside,
Through tears I had to wade.

The words were written on the page,
for everyone to see.
That you are my closest friend,
Within our community.

Through times that were hard,
And the pains we've had to bare.
Yet we made our friendship bloom and grow,
And you showed me how you care.

You'll always be a treasure,
To everyone you get to know.
You'll give them hope and guidance,
And a loving heart you'll show.
