ANGELHEART
AngelHeart was an Indian Maiden
All alone she sat and cried
Her poor heart was over laden
For her love was locked inside
Couldn't tell the friends around her
About the love that grew within
Can't let it go on much longer
Soon the ceremony will begin
For she's promised to another
A very old and wrinkled man
Promised to him by her father
So their tribes could be as one
~♥~
AngelHeart sat within her tepee
Tears cascading down her cheek
Then her true love came and found her
Took her down to Shadow Creek
There to find, canoe all laden
Over by the waters edge
Drove on out into the river
Pushing past an outcropped ledge
~♥~
Soon her father will discover
AngelHeart had ran away
Taken flight with her lover
They won't make it through the day
Arrows whistled past their shoulders
Spears and stones were thrown as well
Till an arrow sank deep into her lover
Then into raging waters fell
~♥~
Now poor Angel's heart was broken
The man she loved was in the water
Arrows aplenty in his back
All because she was the Chieftain's Daughter
Expected to marry into the pack
Angel's heart was all a quiver
Tears were flowing hard and fast
As she plunged into the river
With her true love she'll stay at last
~♥~
If you go on down to shadow creek
When the breeze has a winters chill
Its said you can hear poor AngelHeart
Searching the waters and Crying still
